Spectrum- A Junior College Association:
"Opportunities don't happen,you create them"- Chris Grosser. And this is exactly what Spectrum is all about. It has taken the responsibility of igniting young minds towards creating 'Thinking Citizens'. This year Spectrum began its activities on 24th July 2019 with a medical training programme - icare organized by the Physics department of KCJC in association with The Holy Family Hospital.The students were introduced to the techniques to handle Cardiac Arrest Emergencies. Practical knowledge and demonstrations were given by the Resource person for better understanding of this medical emergency. This was followed by 'Moderator's talk' - Event aimed to clear all doubts in the minds of students appearing for their HSC Board exam in the second week of July.This event has always worked wonders and students have been able to tackle the pressure of HSC board exams with confidence.

Next in line was The Treasure Hunt on 20th August 2019 which saw an overwhelming participation. It was an opportunity to make friends and work in a team. The beaming faces of the winners proved that happiness indeed lies in the joy of achievement and in the thrill of relentless efforts.

Celebration of French Day was observed on 21 August 2019. It was organised by the French students of Class 12 to welcome the French students of Class 11. Students harmoniously sang the National Anthem of India and France against the backdrop of the spectacular National Flags of both the countries. They sang songs and danced. They played games and had quiz in French.

Traditional Day was celebrated on 24th August 2019 when Students dressed up with their diversed colourful traditional dress and showed their Unity in diversity - Being KCite inspite of different culture and tradition.

The Freshers' Party was organised on 27th August 2019 at Matahari( Worli) . It was the dawn of little dancers putting up a marvellous display on the dance floor. The colorful ensemble of dancers coupled with intoxicating music weaved sheer magic on the audience.

This year Spectrum had the privilege of organizing the Curtain Raiser for KIRAN- an intercollegiate cultural festival on 11th September,2019.The grandeur of the performance left the audience awestruck.They were treated to some fantastic dance performances which demonstrated a fusion of Indian and Western dance forms like samba, garba, bhangda , lavabelly, contemporary, classical, salsa.

Educational visit to Bombay stock exchange was organised by Commerce department on 22nd October 2019. It was wonderful experience for students giving them information about different activities of BSE, bolt, trading activities and historical background. It gave them information about making career in finance market.

Study Tour - Visit to Jijamata Udyan and zoo was organised on 24 November 2019 in association with Dr. Deo, Curator of Udyan. It was 'Zoo awareness program' briefing students about the habits and life cycle of animals like, Elephants, deer, rhinos, Neelgai etc. , Planning of looking after animals in the zoo, Various departments required for zoo administration, view of many exotic and old trees are there to the date. This was followed by 'CROSSROADS' - Exhibition which was hosted by Biology Department of KCJC on 30th November 2019. The tagline was to show how ancient good paths are connected with our modest technical path. It was a perfect example of great teamwork. The wonderful entries amply reflected the ingenious ideas of the participants. Students truely enjoyed by participating in Rangoli Competition, Poster Making Competition and Fruits/ Vegetables Carving.

Last but definitely not the least Spectrum also organised a Star Gazing event at Tandulwadi, Saphale on 21 December 2019 where students had joyful novel experience of seeing stars through telescope and enriched the beauty of astronomy. Spectrum programme will continue to initiate activities that can help the students to explore,enjoy,enrich and experience life because Spectrum believes 'An end is only a beginning in disguise '.
