Being Healthy: What does it actually mean?
Ms.Harshi guided students about the right dietary practice for the normal and healthy living which satiating as well as providing them with energy to easily carry out their day to day activities. The importance of inclusion of fruits and nuts in the diet instead of junk food as a quick bite was very well explained giving the insights of healthy skin and hair.

Study of model organism is important for the students of Biological Sciences. It is imperative to study the growth and development of the organisms as it helps to understand the effect of certain chemicals and conduct several experiments related to it.

The objective of this excursion was to know more about agro farming and living in harmony with nature without disturbing it .The tour of the entire agro farm was conducted wherein insights on the easy techniques to grow crops as it was a source of living for the people working there.

Inspired by the Cleanliness Mission, “Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan” initiated by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr.Narendra Modi in 2014, we at Department of Life Sciences were motivated to conduct the Cleanliness Drive of the Department with the help of S.Y.B.Sc and T.Y .B.Sc Life Sciences students ,teaching and non teaching staff of Degree as well as Junior College. The event was successfully conducted by the Department of Life Sciences on the 20 th and 21 st of June, 2019.

Lecture on ‘Microfluidics in Healthcare’ organised by the Department of Microbiology in associated with Indian Women Scientist Association on 17th January, 2020. The speaker was Dr. Debjani Paul, Associate Professor, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Department of Microbiology organized a activity ‘Lab on Move’ on 23rd December,2020 in which Students of SYBSC (Microbiology +Biotechnology) showcased models and posters prepared by them to 9 th std students of SL &SS Girls Muncipal High School (Kamlabai High School, Charni Road).

Microfiesta 4.0- an intercollegiate event organized as a part of SciCode #19 and it comprised of model making and videomaking events. An exhibition endeavors to generate interest in the field of Microbiology among the students of school, junior college and degree college students. The event was held on 21 st December 2019 at K.C College.
